Yvette's Bio


With over 35 years of diverse experience as a leader, executive, consultant, and entrepreneur, Yvette Diamond is committed to empowering leaders to instigate impactful change in the workforce. Serving as the Executive Director of the Maryland Apprenticeship Connector (MAC), she tirelessly advocated for apprenticeships as a crucial avenue spanning all industries, addressing immediate operational needs while future-proofing Maryland's workforce.

In her consultancy work, Yvette spearheaded the Greater Baltimore Committee's 'Preparing for the Future' initiative in 2021, fostering a network of over 350 stakeholders across the region. This experience uniquely positioned her to lead MAC's efforts in uniting the apprenticeship ecosystem statewide, crafting sustainable hiring and training strategies for vital growth sectors such as healthcare, technology, and construction as well as the creation of Apprentice Connect, the Maryland's first centralized informational site for apprenticeships.

 

Prior to her consultancy career, Yvette held notable leadership roles, including Chief Operations Officer of a $24MM+ logistics firm in Howard County, Vice President of an international publishing company in Rockville, and founder and CEO of a health and beauty company in Frederick, MD. These varied leadership and entrepreneurial experiences have equipped her with invaluable insights into employer challenges, driving her mission to connect key stakeholders in education and workforce development to address those challenges.

Recognized as a thought leader in contemporary workforce development strategies, alternative career pathways, and the pivotal role of apprenticeships across industries, Yvette actively shares her expertise with various organizations, including Project JumpStart, United Way of Central Maryland, and Baltimore Together. Her contributions have earned her accolades such as the Daily Record Top 100 Women in Maryland in 2016 and 2022, Frederick Economic Development Entrepreneur of the Year, and Frederick Magazine's Person to Watch. She has also been featured in prominent media outlets such as the Frederick News-Post, The Daily Record, citybizlist, Build Your Path Podcast, and local television affiliates.

 

Yvette's commitment extends to her involvement in numerous education and workforce boards and advisory committees, including roles as a U.S. Department of Labor Apprenticeship Ambassador and a member of the Baltimore Workforce Hub Apprenticeship Subcommittee, appointed by the White House Office of Infrastructure Implementation.
